How to Set Up and Use the Outlook 2013 Weather Bar

Outlook now comes equipped with its very own weather bar. It’s conveniently located on the Calendar tab directly above the actual calendar. The Weather Bar gives users a two-day weather forecast that can help with planning events. If you hover over each day with the mouse, a small pop-up will appear with more details about the weather conditions.

The Outlook Weather Bar is defaulted to New York, NY, but can be changed at any time. The location can be altered by clicking the drop down arrow beside New York, NY and selecting Add Location. In the search bar that appears, type in the desired zip code or city and click the magnifying glass. This new location will then be added to the drop-down menu for easy access.

The Weather Bar can save up to 5 different locations. You can easily switch between these locations with the drop down menu.

How to enable and disable the Outlook Weather Bar:

If you are unable to see the Outlook Weather Bar in your Calendar tab, you can check under options to see if the feature has been disabled. The Outlook Weather Bar options can be found in Outlook Options under the Calendar section at the bottom of the page.

The Weather Bar can be enabled by checking the box labeled “Show weather on the calendar” and disabled by unchecking the box. From this location, you can also choose to display the temperature as Celsius or Fahrenheit.
