How to Add Facebook and Twitter Contacts to your Apple Address Book

The first step toward becoming master of your social media domain is this: Consolidate your contacts. It’s a good news, bad news, good news story.

The good news: Apple’s OSX Mountain Lion lets you import your Facebook friends and Twitter handles into your address book.

The bad news: Mountain Lion feature imports all your Facebook friends into Address Book, not just the contacts you already have. In addition, you can’t edit the contacts you import from Facebook.

The good news: At the risk of sounding overly self-serving, this is a problem Scrubly’s Social Contact Update feature solves nicely.

Scrubly updates your existing contacts from your friends’ information on Twitter and Facebook (as well as LinkedIn). If you don’t want all of your Facebook contacts imported, Scrubly only pulls in information from the contacts you have — not import contacts you don’t want.

And if you connect all of your social accounts, Scrubly will consolidate all of your friend’s social data into a single contact.

If you want to import all of your social network contacts from Facebook and connect your Mac Contacts with Twitter, follow these steps.
