Check Out the Cool New Features of the iOS 8 Mail App

If you haven’t upgraded to iOS 8 Mail app yet, you’ve probably at least heard about some of the great new features Apple’s latest mobile OS gives you. What you may not know is that Mail has gotten a boost in efficiency with this upgrade, too. New functionality in the iOS 8 Mail app gives you the ability to quickly sort your email with the swipe of a finger. Options include the following:

  • More
  • Flag
  • Trash
  • Mark as Read

Let’s take a look at how to do this.

Note: You must upgrade to iOS 8 before you can take advantage of these new features. To upgrade, tap Settings > General > Software Update.

1. As you are looking through email, you can quickly trash an email by running your finger over the email from right to left in a full swipe. Here’s a short video showing this feature in action.

2. A small swipe from right to left provides you with more options, such as flagging an email and moving email to a folder. In other words, don’t do a full swipe all the way across the screen, just a quick, short swipe.
